Interesting article. I don't know how to make it better, but I know from my own confusion that the title is confusing. I had to read a few paragraphs before I understood that "throttle" meant "lower the power" rather than "choke to death".

Yet another interesting article on a great blog. One thing that strikes me about the stereotype threat section, and in particular the paper that is mentioned, is that no one seems intrigued by the indication that test scores for the white kids went UP in the threat situation in addition to the test scores for the minorities going down. The research focused on the minority response, but what is the cause for the majority response? Are white kids pre-disposed to believe that they should be doing better on intelligence tests than on other tests? The outcome here doesn't make sense to me.
