Do girls outperform boys on AP Calculus tests if you don't ask for gender before the test? Social scientist Joshua Aronson presented a false "stereotype threat" effect an unknown number of times. He simply flipped the girls and boys bars in his graph, showing the opposite of the true effect. Here's my report on how the false claim spread far and wide.
